Canvas, not just for post-secondary anymore.

Canvas has grown quite a bit, and I believe it is a fantastic tool to help prepare our students for college, as many of the colleges that our students choose are running Canvas.  It is also great for parent interaction via smartphone apps.

I can safely say that it does integrate and grade sync with PowerSchool.  I ran a pilot where I was able to get a 6-12 site to use only Canvas for their classrooms and grade entry, then everything was pushed into PowerSchool via the SiS grade sync tool.  This did take some training and a bit of brainstorming, as we use two SAMLs (one for student and one for staff).  Once we worked that out, the only other issue we ran into was with grading category mismatches and user error with not add/dropping students within PowerSchool appropriately- this was controlled for with additional training, but it is easy for newer teachers to create these errors.  I believe that if you can provide stout BoY training and make sure all steps within PowerSchool are followed as they should be, Canvas can push and pull seamlessly.
