We are 575 members and growing!

Welcome!

This site is the brainchild of Chris Moggia, Ed.D., a Southern California educator with a passion for teaching and technology, a disdain of all things confusing and/or inefficient, and a bizarre sense of humor.

Spending the last 25 years as a teacher, school administrator, IT Director, web programmer, assessment guru and parent has fueled a desire to make the whole process of teaching and administrating just a little bit easier.

The site "launched" in January of 2016 when it was lovingly "outed" by a colleague on the CSIS listserv :)  (I wasn't even ready - sort of like ready, fire, aim . . . )

Since then we've had over 120K page views and 575 individuals join as members (so you can download stuff, ask questions, etc.)

The site started as a resource for helping my colleagues make sense of CALPADS, SBAC/CAASPP, PowerSchool, and any other work-related headaches (hence the headache guy in the logo).

It has morphed into a community-based resource with downloadable resources, a public forum, and other little goodies.  Add a dose of fun and a dash of irreverence, and you've got SchoolTechnologyLeadership.com.

The site draws its inspiration from the work of Ed Emberley (remember him?).  I learned from Ed that if I took complex ideas and broke them down into step-by-step directions, I could basically do anything. Even build a whole world if I wanted to.

Ed
Ed Emberley taught me how to take complex projects and turn them into step-by-step tasks. My love of doing so led me into teaching. Thanks Ed!

The site has now taken on a life of it's own.

I hope you find it useful!

Our Core Beliefs:

1.

Unify

Bring together the resources needed to effectively run a California public school and ensure compliance with all those pesky (but important!) rules and regulations. We pull in CALPADS, ESSA, CNIPS, Tech news, CAASPP and other resources - anything we need to support the data needs of our schools.

2.

Simplify

Turn confusing policies and regulations into easy-to-follow instructions and simple, actionable steps. Develop checklists, guides, and other support docs. Leverage web 2.0 tools to simplify document management.  Get help when you need it.

3.

Multiply

Leverage the expertise of our members by tapping into assessment experts, vendors, teachers, parents, technology gurus, and others through our online community, our "leadership voices", and our resource area.  Build good resources ONCE and SHARE!
